Frequently Asked Questions

Who is the V-557 built for? ⌄
The V-557 is designed as an everyday styling tool — ceramic plates for even heat, adjustable temperature so you're not locked into one setting, and an anti-scald housing that makes it comfortable and safe for daily use, whether you're touching up your fringe or doing a full straightening routine.
What temperature should I use? ⌄
As a general guide: lower settings (around 99°C–150°C) for fine or colour-treated hair to minimize stress on the strand, and higher settings (up to 232°C) for thicker or more resistant hair that needs more heat to hold straight. Start on the lower end and increase only if needed — you can always go hotter, but you can't undo heat damage.
Is it safe to hold close to my scalp? ⌄
Yes — the anti-scald housing keeps the outer body noticeably cooler than the plates themselves, so you can style close to the roots and near your ears without the same burn risk that plain metal-bodied straighteners carry.
How quickly can I get ready with the V-557? ⌄
The V-557 heats up fast enough for a normal morning routine — plug it in while you finish the rest of your routine, and it's typically ready by the time you pick it up. For best results, style on fully dry hair rather than damp.
How do I maintain it? ⌄
Unplug and let it cool fully before cleaning. Wipe the ceramic plates with a soft, slightly damp cloth to clear product buildup. Avoid submerging the unit in water or using rough sponges on the plates, which can scratch the ceramic coating and cause dragging.
